STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Thought it still feels a bit like winter outside, you may have noticed the sun is rising a bit earlier in the morning these days.
Well, that’s about to change.
When Daylight Saving Time begins and we push the clocks ahead at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, the sun will rise just about an hour later. But, we’ll get an extra hour of daylight in the evening to enjoy before the sun sets on that day.
Sunrise
Sunrise will be at 7:16 a.m. on March 9, while New Yorkers will have greeted the sun at 6:18 a.m. on March 8.
Sunset
And on Sunday, sunset will occur just about an hour later — at 6:56 p.m. On Saturday, the last day of Standard Time, sunset in New York City will have taken place at 5:55 p.m…
