NEW YORK (PIX11) – Several Social Security offices in New York will be closing as the Department of Government Efficiency continues to cut federal spending.
The closures come after the Social Security Administration said it found over $800 million in savings for the 2025 fiscal year.
“For too long, SSA has operated on autopilot,” said Lee Dudek, the acting commissioner of the SSA, in a statement. “We have spent billions annually doing the same things the same way, leading to bureaucratic stagnation, inefficiency, and a lack of meaningful service improvements. It is time to change just that.”…
