California Gov. Newsom’s approval rating climbs, especially in Bay Area, Los Angeles

A recent Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) survey reveals that Gov. Gavin Newsom’s approval rating has climbed, particularly in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, the survey found.

The statewide study, conducted Feb. 4-11 among 1,589 adult residents, found that 52% of voters and 55% of likely voters approve of Newsom’s performance.

Los Angeles residents showed the strongest support (61%), followed by 54% in the Bay Area. Meanwhile, majorities in other regions disapprove. This marks an increase from October’s approval ratings (44% adults, 47% likely voters).
