The Blood Bank of Alaska is still calling on Iditarod fans to roll up their sleeves and donate blood to help support the community.
At the ceremonial start of the Iditarod in Anchorage, the Blood Bank hosted its third annual blood drive in partnership with the race. As a thank you, donors received a special commemorative t-shirt, celebrating 100 years since the historic 1925 serum run to Nome.
