NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Chicken wings are king in the U.S., but many Asian countries clamor for the feet. According to FarmProgress.com , in 2022, chicken feet accounted for more than 85% of U.S. poultry exports to China.
According to Volza.com the U.S. is the eighth largest exporter of chicken feet, and, said Richard Wong, who owns the Umi Teriyaki and Sushi franchise at the Norfolk Premium Outlets, if China decides to shop elsewhere for the delicacy amid increased tariffs from President Trump, March could be the prime time to introduce Americans to the Phoenix claw, also known as chicken feet.
