A woman who was arrested and charged with attempted murder after she shot her boyfriend in the neck won’t be prosecuted.

Assistant State Attorney Adam Smith wrote in a memorandum filed with the court: “In considering the relevant self-defense laws applicable to the facts of this case, and the victim’s desire not to prosecute the defendant, the state has determined that the evidence is insufficient to prove the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.”
