McBride’s Pub Is Open For Business

Just use the rear entrance. The crew aims to have construction finished in time for St. Patrick’s Day, but no matter what, they will be open. (See below for how to make a reservation.) McBride’s Irish Pub is attached to the former Monahan’s funeral home on the corner, which is still scheduled for demolition I believe. Grrr.

We first wrote about McBride’s when it opened in 2011, when the two businesses were indeed linked. That post has the background story of how a trip to Ireland inspired the funeral home owners to turn the unused garage space into a pub.

I stopped by and spoke with the contractor, John Pettinelli, who described the upcoming changes; he was kind enough to send in the rendering below. On the left you can see that some of the patio has given way to what he described as a four-seasons room. Note that the design of the facade clearly references the former garage doors . . . the garage where they kept the hearses…
