Residents of Sarasota have an opportunity to declutter and protect their identities with the return of Shred Stock, a free document shredding event. Scheduled for next Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon, the event will take place in the Van Wezel parking lot at 777 N. Tamiami Trail, according to the City of Sarasota’s announcement.
In partnership with The Bay, the City’s Central Records Division is spearheading this initiative, allowing folks to destroy up to four boxes of sensitive documents. While attendees should remain seated in their vehicles during the event, their documents, whether united by staples or paper clips, will be taken from their trunks for shredding. Unfortunately, materials like binders, documents still clasped by binder clips, and various forms of digital media cannot be accepted.
Highlights of Shred Stock include a performance by The Garbage Men, a band lauded for playing 60s music on instruments made from recycled materials. The event won’t just stop at shredding paper; it’ll also feature a special offer from The Bay with a 15% discount at The Nest for participants…
