CICERO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — One person is in custody after an evening car chase that caused I-81 to shut down.

The incident started around 7:15 p.m. on March 7 in the Town of Onondaga when Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a domestic call with a report of the victim being menaced with a handgun.
The suspect left the scene in his vehicle before the deputies arrived.
About 10 minutes later, deputies saw the suspect’s vehicle driving at the intersection of East Brighton Avenue and South Salina Street. They followed the vehicle as it entered Route 481 North and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle did not immediately pull over but slowed down and got off at Jamesville Road.
