Storms possible later today, nice weather to start next week

Today will feature warm and cloudy conditions with highs in the upper 70s. An upper-level trough is going to approach the area later today, which will increase atmospheric instability and lift. This will lead to an increasing storm threat later this evening and tonight. Scattered strong storms will be possible with a strong wind gust, hail, or a brief tornado possible. The risk today is low, only being a level one out five threat. The timing of storms looks to be primarily through the evening and overnight hours.

A front will move through the area later tonight and through tomorrow. Cooler temperatures tomorrow with highs only in the mid-60s with strong northwesterly winds. A chilly start to the workweek next week with lows in the low-mid 40s Monday morning.

We’ll see nice weather, however, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s and full sunshine.
