St. Louis man indicted on 57 counts for car break-ins across city

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man was indicted on more than 50 counts after police said he was involved in multiple car break-ins around St. Louis late last year.

Eugene Jamison III, 22, was indicted by a grand jury on 57 counts, including seven counts of stealing a firearm, in connection with car break-ins at 10 different locations on eight different nights between Nov. 8 and Dec. 10 of last year.

According to the indictment, the car break-ins occurred at the following dates in 2024 and locations:

  • 11/8 — 2101 Chouteau Ave.
  • 11/21 — 2600 Chouteau
  • 11/29 — 600 North 14th Street
  • 12/3 — 811 Spruce Street
  • 12/4 — N 14th St. and Washington Ave.
  • 12/5 — 1401 Washington Ave.
  • 12/7 — 1911 Locust St.
  • 12/10 — 811 Spruce St.
  • 12/10 — 101 N Memorial
  • 12/10 — 1615 S Broadway
  • 12/10 — 750 S Broadway
  • 12/10 — 300 N 4th St.

A police department spokesman said officers took him into custody on Dec. 10 when they saw him trying to break into cars on Broadway near Chestnut. According to the indictment, he tried to flee from police in his car, crashed then tried to run away before being taken into custody…
