Lake Superior Zoo offers new refuge for 200 rescued animals

DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth’s Lake Superior Zoo is making new homes for nearly 200 rescues from the defunct SeaQuest in Roseville.

The zoo adopted 172 budgie birds, 2 eclectus parrots, a Catalina macaw, a military macaw, a golden conure, a capybara and a reticulated python.

A team of animal care staff from the Lake Superior Zoo traveled to SeaQuest Roseville on Wednesday to help remove and transport the animals. When they arrived, the SeaQuest staff escorted them to the habitats housing the animals…
