It’s official, (I guess), the rudest cities in the USA have been ranked and super friendly Texas cracked the top 30 a total of 5 times. Here’s why …
Preply listed the 46 rudest cities in the USA … don’t ask me why they stopped at 46, I think it’s weird too … and Texas definitely has a presence.
El Paso didn’t make the list at all since we’re sweet AF and while Texas may be the friendly state, only California has more cities on the rude list than us.
The Texas cities that made the Preply scorecard are, coincidentally, also our biggest cities. I get it, living in a monster metroplex like Houston would totally tense me up. I guess those folks could all use a day in the country or something … maybe a puppy. Here’s the rundown:
- Houston #13
- Austin #16
- Dallas #18
- San Antonio #22
- Fort Worth #29
Why Are These Cities So Rude?
I’m no statistician or behavioral scientist or anything like that but here is why I really think peeps in these cities are, allegedly, so rude. It’s not the size of the city, it’s what happens in them:
- Houston – Humidity, alligators and the occasional hurricane. (Plus it’s huge.)
- Austin – The state capitol is crawling with politicians – They irritate everybody.
- Dallas – Did you see the Dallas Cowboys play last season?
- San Antonio – Are you currently watching The Spurs play?
- Fort Worth – They live next to Dallas and those people are, well, you know.
Who Topped The List?
The top 5 rudest cities were Miami, Philadelphia … maybe that Lombardi trophy will chill them out a little … Tampa, Louisville and Oakland. On the flip side, the top 5 most polite cities were Omaha, Minneapolis, San Diego, Columbus and Kansas…
