In honor of Black History Month in February, the Toledo Club hosted an intimate conversation with two musical legends—Motown icon Martha Reeves and renowned jazz trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis.
Martha Reeves, known for Grammy-nominated hits like “Heat Wave,” “Dancing in the Street,” “No Where to Run,” and “Jimmy Mack,” shared recollections from her storied career with Martha and the Vandellas and her thoughts on today’s music and the gospel. Delfeayo Marsalis, a celebrated jazz musician and producer and member of the famed Marsalis family, New Orleans’ first family of jazz, also gave his unique perspective.
