Jacksonville, FL (March 9th) — Legendary singer Gladys Knight was forced to cancel her Saturday night performance at the Florida Theatre after suddenly falling ill backstage. Florida Theatre President Numa Saisselin announced the last-minute cancellation, stating that both Knight and a staff member became unwell.

A representative for Knight later confirmed that she was suffering from the flu. After receiving treatment in Jacksonville, Knight returned to her North Carolina home to recover.

Sunday’s performance at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa was also postponed. An announcement regarding a new date is forthcoming. At this time, the status of Knight’s upcoming March 11th concert in Orlando remains unclear.
