John Goodman Briefly Sidelined by On-Set Injury
Veteran actor John Goodman, known for his roles in “The Big Lebowski,” “Argo,” and “Monsters, Inc.,” experienced a minor setback during the filming of an upcoming action movie also starring Tom Cruise, Jesse Plemons, and Liz Ahmed. In early 2025, Goodman sustained a hip injury requiring medical attention, briefly pausing production.
A spokesperson for the Warner Bros. Pictures film confirmed the incident and stated that Goodman received immediate care, leading to a short delay in shooting to allow for his recovery.
Production resumed the following week.
The untitled film, described on IMDb as the story of the world’s most powerful man attempting to prove he’s the savior of humanity after causing a disaster, also stars Jesse Plemons and Liz Ahmed.
The 72-year-old actor has been open about his past struggles with alcoholism, seeking treatment in 2007. He has also garnered attention for his significant weight loss in recent years.
Adding to a challenging start to the year, Goodman’s Pacific Palisades home was reportedly lost in the Los Angeles County wildfires earlier in 2025.
