1 firefighter injured in Richfield house fire | By Lt. Jason Guslick

March 9, 2025 – Village of Richfield, WI – On March 9, 2025, at 5 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center took a call from a homeowner, who reported there was smoke in their house, and it was coming from their basement, at 5058 High-On-A-Hill Drive in the Village of Richfield. Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and the Richfield Fire Department were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Upon the arrival of Deputies and Richfield Fire a large amount of smoke was coming from the residence which originated from the basement. The Richfield Fire Department quickly upgraded the call to a box level fire call and was assisted by: Slinger Fire, Jackson Fire, Germantown Fire, Hartford Fire, Newburg Fire, Merton Fire, Life Star Ambulance, Menomonee Falls Fire, Allenton Fire, St. Lawrence Fire and Cedarburg Fire.

The occupants in the residence were able to exit the residence and did not suffer any injuries. The fire was contained mostly to the basement. A Richfield firefighter suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Richfield Fire Department.

March 9, 2025 – Hubertus, WI – There are 13 departments on scene at a house fire in Hubertus. The call came in just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 5000 block of High-on-a-Hill Drive.
