Falling for any item on a fast-food menu can be something of an emotional roller coaster. Just ask any fan of McDonald’s Szechuan Sauce or Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza. But perhaps no fast-food item has given fans more of the love-and-loss experience than the legendary KFC potato wedges.
KFC discontinued their popular potato wedges in 2020 (already a rather tough year, if you may recall) to make room for signature fries, and while we’ll never fully understand why there’s not room for multiple fried potato options on any menu, this loss was a rather tough one to swallow for many. It led to all sorts of social media petitions and campaigns, to no avail. It seems, that is, until now.
Just when we were starting to think it may never happen, KFC has announced they are bringing back the side in a small but mighty way: Potato wedges will be available for just two weeks, exclusively at five Tampa locations. If all goes well, the rest of us may just be able to get a taste as well before too long.
