Fort Wayne man accused of possessing ‘destructive devices’

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A 61-year-old man is facing a felony charge after police allegedly found that he had “destructive devices” in his possession.

Joe Ellis Gray, Jr. was arrested after Fort Wayne Police Department officers were asked to assist “another government agency” Monday afternoon in the 2200 block of Meridian Street, the city police agency says. FWPD’s Hazardous Devices Unit assisted in the investigation.

The unit determined the “suspicious looking devices” seen inside the Meridian Street home qualified as destructive devices. FWPD says those devices no longer pose a threat to public safety as the unit removed and secured them…
