Next step in long-awaited Youree Dive repairs to begin this week

The next step in the fast-paced rehabilitation of a section of Youree Drive is set to begin this week.

Construction crews this week are expected to continue fixing the most seriously damaged portions of the highway they are repairing, shifting that kind of work to the stretch between Kings Highway and Stoner Avenue. The project, set to be finished by June, will see its asphalt milled off and replaced after that work is done.

The rehabilitation of three miles of Youree Drive from Stoner Avenue to Southfield Road is being funded by a 2024 state legislative appropriation of $7.5 million for each Department of Transportation and Development district.
