EUGENE, Ore. – A Veneta man was sentenced on Friday to nearly two years in prison for multiple burglaries from Crow Middle/High School and a Creswell church, according to the Lane County District Attorney’s Office.
The DA’s office said that Charles Younkin-Stec will serve 22 months with the state’s department of corrections with one year of post-prison supervision for three burglaries Younkin-Stec committed in Eugene and Creswell. In April 2024, Younkin-Stec and an accomplice broke into the maintenance shops of Crow Middle/High School and stole thousands of dollars’ worth of tools and other items, the DA’s office said. Officials with the DA’s office said that Younkin-Stec broke into the school again on November 28, 2024 and stole an estimated $10,000 worth of property. About a month later, on December 27, Younkin-Stec burglarized a school attached to New Hope Baptist Church in Creswell where he stole credit cards, checks, and laptops, the DA’s office said.
