Billy Joel Pauses Tour for Health Reasons

Additional Coverage:

Singer-songwriter Billy Joel has announced a four-month postponement of his upcoming concert dates due to a recent surgery. The 75-year-old “Piano Man” will be undergoing physical therapy during this time.

In a statement, Joel expressed his regret to fans, stating, “While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans.

Thank you for your understanding.” He is expected to make a full recovery and resume his tour on July 5, 2025, in Pittsburgh.

All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates.

The announcement comes on the heels of Joel’s recent single release, “Turn the Lights Back On,” his first new music since 2007. Last year also marked the end of his decade-long residency at Madison Square Garden. Despite concluding the residency, Joel had maintained he had no plans to retire from performing.
