DELANO, California — A Kern County jury has found William Dee McIntosh, a prison inmate, guilty of attempted murder, two counts of assault by an inmate serving a life sentence, and possession of a weapon. The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Babbanjit Bobby Singh.On September 22, 2022, McIntosh and co-defendant Jason Lee Sawyer, both inmates at Kern Valley State Prison, attacked a fellow inmate in the dayroom, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office. Sawyer initiated the attack by striking the victim from behind, and McIntosh joined in, chasing and stabbing the victim multiple times.
