FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A 39-year-old Fort Wayne man has accepted a plea offer that could dismiss high-level child molesting charges against him.
Joseph Offerle was charged with three counts of child molesting in July, two Level 1 charges and one Level 4 charge, which carry a potential sentence of more than 90 years in prison. The agreement offered to the defendant would dismiss the two high-level felonies and an additional felony charge.
Offerle pleaded guilty to the original Level 4 child molesting charge, as well as a newly filed Level 4 child molesting charge in exchange, in exchange for a 12-year prison sentence. It would also bar him from contact with the victim and a witness in the case…
