Man charged in Interstate 40 road rage killing in North Carolina suspected of being in United States illegally

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A Wake County judge denied bond Monday afternoon for suspected road rage killer, 32-year-old Josue Quintanilla Reyes, also suspected of being in the country illegally.

It was an emotional afternoon in the courthouse as the family watched Judge Margaret Eagles tell the accused killer that he too, if convicted, could face the death penalty.

“It’s just a lot of pain, the victim’s oldest brother, Ramon Baez said. “Something like that for road rage; it’s just not worth it.”

Four family members of the victim, Ricardo Baez Cardenas, sat in the courtroom to see  Quintanilla Reyes’ face in person and hear every word he said through an interpreter. He said his name and that he needed an attorney.
