According to the Arizona Weatherman, two weather systems will move through Arizona on Tuesday through Friday, 11-14 Mar, 2025. The initial system will move in on Tuesday afternoon and impact Yuma, La Paz, and Maricopa counties the most, and then spreading up on the Rim. The second system will move in on Thursday morning from the west and move through the state eastward through Friday. This event will bring in more rain and snow showers. Even some isolated thunderstorms are possible on Thursday with this system. These two systems will bring heavy snow loads up on the Mogollon Rim and heavy rain to the southern part of the state.
This forecast will look at the total precipitation accumulation from Tuesday through Friday. The models have been showing a reasonable degree of consistency with these storms. Therefore, the precipitation estimates are looking solid. I expect the snow load on the Rim as follows: Flagstaff 8-12 inches, Prescott a rain/snow mix with 2-5 inches, Payson a rain/snow mix with 4-6 inches, Show Low 3-6 inches of snow, and Grand Canyon with 3-5 inches of snow.
