SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Surfside Beach officials on Tuesday tightened regulations around what type of activity can take place on — and off of — its $19 million pier, including barring an art form that grabbed attention in recent weeks.
The town council inserted language into an ordinance governing use of its streets, sidewalks beaches and other public places that prohibits anyone from affixing swings, ropes, signs, banners or any other items from the pier’s support structures.
