Gwinnett County Breaks Ground on Innovative Mental Health and Veteran Services Facility in Lawrenceville

Gwinnett County is enhancing community welfare by initiating the construction of a new resource center aimed at supporting mental and behavioral health, as well as providing services for veterans, families, and child development. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Gwinnett Community Resource Center, located at 1040 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville, is scheduled for today at 2 p.m. This 84,232-square-foot, three-story facility is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, demonstrating a strong investment in public health infrastructure.

At the heart of the new center will be a 30-bed inpatient crisis stabilization unit and a 23-hour temporary observation day center for up to 15 individuals. The goal is to purely make these much-needed services more accessible to those in crisis in the Gwinnett area.
