San Francisco’s KZAC-AM radio station, formerly 560 KSFO , has gone off the air as part of a broader restructuring by its owner, Cumulus Media. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the station’s first license by the Federal Communications Commission, but its future is uncertain.
In a statement to the FCC , Cumulus Media explained that it was “in the process of deciding whether to change the format or sell the station.”
“We have determined that certain stations are no longer the right strategic fit within their respective markets,” Cumulus said in a statement to Insider Radio , which first reported the news. “As a result, we have made the decision to suspend operations at these stations — an adjustment that impacts very few individuals — while we evaluate the best path forward.”…
