DES MOINES, Iowa — The Polk County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a resolution to pay County Administrator John Norris more than $500,000 in exchange for his resignation.
The settlement comes two months after an alleged verbal dispute between Norris and members of the Board of Supervisors occurred once the board placed Norris on administrative leave.
As part of the settlement, Norris will remain on a paid leave of absence with benefits for 12 months, effective March 6. In addition, Norris will accrue vacation and personal days throughout the year, which he will be permitted to use starting March 7, 2026…
