Two children hospitalized after family escapes east Columbus fire

COLUMBUS, Ohio ( WCMH ) – Two children are in the hospital after a family of four escaped a house fire in east Columbus early Wednesday morning.

According to firefighters at the scene, two children, ages five and eight, were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in the 500 block of South Everett Avenue in the Eastmoor neighborhood.

Crews responded to the scene at around 4:40 a.m., when it was reported that a family was able to escape the blaze. The children were hospitalized with trouble breathing and one adult was rescued from a second-story window.
