Firefighters knock down fire that spread to two homes in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Firefighters worked on putting out a house fire that spread to a second home in Grand Rapids Tuesday night, according to the firefighter union.

Firefighters were called to Naylor Street SW between Century Avenue and Cesar A. Chavez Ave. SW for “heavy fire” in a 2.5-story home that had spread to a neighboring home, according to the Grand Rapids Professional Firefighters Union Local 366 .

The bulk of the fire has been knocked down in both houses, according to firefighters. Crews were looking for hotspots around 11 p.m.

It’s not clear how the fire started or if anyone was inside the homes…
