A “swap meet” of pop-up vendors, outdoor cooking, and lively buying and selling—all probably operating illegally—has sprung up at the corner of North Lake Wohlford & Woods Valley Road. Planning member Chris Barber gave a report on the activities going on there at the March 10 meeting of the VC planning group.
Barber recently investigated the sudden appearance of a bunch of businesses near the existing Flugge egg ranch and coffee stand. They include a taco truck, flower sales, and people setting up chafing dishes, hanging clothing sales and serving hot food to passers-by. “It’s turning into a swap meet,” commented Barber.
Complicating matters is that some parts of the area where vendors have sprung up may be on the San Pasqual reservation. In which case, that would not be a concern for the planners…
