DC police search for man who ‘assaulted’ police officer in Southeast, officials say

WASHINGTON (7News) — D.C. police are searching for a man who allegedly assaulted an officer in Southeast, D.C. on Tuesday, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Officials said that around 4:00 p.m., officers came across a man who was taking marijuana in a public space in the 2600 block of Birney Place. When officers approached, multiple suspects “assaulted” the officers, officials said.
