Influential Hispanic leader passes away

NAMPA — An impactful leader in the Hispanic community passed away Wednesday morning, according to a city press release.

José DeLeon was the facilities manager for the revitalized Hispanic Cultural Center of Idaho. DeLeon was appointed to his position by Mayor Debbie Kling in 2024 to manage the center’s next steps.

“José has been a source of connection and encouragement for the Nampa community,” Kling said in the city press release following his passing. “He was well respected, had an amazing sense of humor and was a friend to all. We were so honored to have Jose as the Facility Manager for the Idaho Hispanic Community Center most recently.”…
