THURSDAY, FEB. 27
• 8:37 a.m. — BCSO responded to a report of a one-vehicle crash on Highway 34 about 10 miles west of Alsea involving a Dodge van that had gone into a ditch. Nobody was found with the van and it was later determined that the driver was a 57-year-old Seal Rock man. The van went off the road into the ditch with the driver’s side leaning over an area that flows from the hill into the Alsea River. The deputy noted that he could spell gas coming from the vehicle and that fuel was possibly going into the water flow. The vehicle was later towed from the scene…
