Outback Steakhouse’s $15 Aussie Three-Course Meal: A Steal or Just Okay?

I recently visited Outback Steakhouse to try their limited-time Aussie three-course meal deal, specifically the $15 tier. While I went in with average expectations, I was curious to see if this deal was truly a value.

My first course was a choice of soup or salad. I opted for the baked-potato soup, a personal favorite.

Unfortunately, it fell flat. Too salty, thin, and lukewarm, it was a disappointing start.

The cheese, bacon, and green onion toppings were appreciated, but couldn’t save the bland base.

For my main course, I chose the Bloomin’ Burger, which normally costs $15.50 on its own. Already, the value of the three-course meal was apparent.

The burger, piled high with Bloomin’ Onion petals, Bloom sauce, cheese, and the usual fixings, was good but not outstanding. It proved a messy endeavor, requiring a knife and fork.

While the meat was cooked well and the sauce was tasty, the pickles were disappointingly bland. However, considering the price of the entire meal, the burger was satisfactory.

My side dish, chosen from options like fries, baked potato, and mixed veggies, was broccoli. Sadly, it was overcooked to the point of mushiness.

Dessert was a slice of New York-style cheesecake with a choice of raspberry or chocolate sauce. I went with chocolate.

The cheesecake was decent – sweet but not overly so, with a pleasant tang and creamy texture. Not being a cheesecake aficionado myself, I enlisted my family to try it, and they enjoyed it.

My final bill, with tax, was a mere $16.28. For three courses, that’s a remarkable price.

While the food wasn’t life-changing, the value was undeniable. Would I order this meal deal again?

Absolutely. Next time, I might try a different salad and side dish, perhaps even one of the shrimp entrées also offered at the $15 level.
