Crime blooms on campus as spring arrives

As Spring begins to bloom across campus, so has crime.

UNLPD Assistant Chief Marty Fehringer said the University of Nebraska-Lincoln saw a slight rise in crimes over the past two weeks, which he said is consistent yearly with the rise in temperatures.

An officer saw a man littering, throwing a bottle on the sidewalk, Monday, March 10 at 14th and P Streets, and stopped his car to intervene. When the officer asked him for his name, Fehringer said the man tried to give him a fake one, which he said “started him down the wrong path.”…
