PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The largest winter storm for Arizona this week is making its way through the state and is already impacting freeways and electricity.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the roads that are closed due to winter weather are:
- Interstate 40 eastbound in Kingman and Ash Fork (mileposts 71 and 146)
- Interstate 40 westbound in Winslow (milepost 252)
- Interstate 17 northbound at state Route 179 (milepost 299)
- State Route 87 just south of Winslow (milepost 338)
- State Route 89A in both directions between Sedona and I-17 (mileposts 375-397)
- State Route 260 between Camp Verde and the junction with state Route 87
- Desert View Drive (SR 64) between the Yaki Point gate and Desert View
Crashes have also closed areas on I-40 west of Flagstaff, including one that killed three people. Humboldt Unified and Prescott Unified have also canceled classes for Friday.

ADOT said snowplows are working around-the-clock in affected areas and remind drivers not to tailgate a snowplow…
