NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A group of faith leaders, advocates and members of the local immigrant community came together Friday in opposition to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office partnering with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement to carry out immigration warrants.
The group held a press conference at the Lonnie Hamilton Building in North Charleston Friday morning..
They’re against the 287(G) agreement, which allows deputies to execute civil immigration warrants on behalf of enforcement and removal operations inside the jail.
