PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Today is going to be the warmest day we see all week. This morning is already pleasant with temperatures around the mid-40s. Once again, we will quickly warm up this morning and into the afternoon. The high today could hit the low 80s and potential tie the daily high record of 82 degrees. So, if you able to, get outside this afternoon and soak in the sun and the warm weather.
It is going to be a bit breezy at times and very dry this afternoon. This will enhance our fire risk for today. Remember, there is a seasonal statewide burn ban in place across West Virginia and Ohio. Be extra mindful with any equipment that could create sparks.
Eyes are on Saturday for the threat of severe weather across the Mid-Ohio Valley. The ingredients will be around in the afternoon and evening to support strong to severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and an isolated tornado. However, we may lack the instability needed to develop these storms. There is still suggestions that leftover showers and storms from Friday’s activity across the Midwest may keep our atmosphere stable in the morning and into the afternoon.
