Columbia Borough Police officers honored for preventing a suicide in 2024

COLUMBIA, Pa. — The Columbia Borough Council recognized two police officers this week for their efforts in preventing a suicide last year.

Columbia Borough Police Cpl. Andrew Snyder and Officer Jack Kopp were the first to arrive at the scene at 9:14 p.m. on April 21, 2024, when they encountered a despondent man straddling the railing of the Route 30 bridge over the Susquehanna River.
