Red Cross Heroes: 5 Fresno officers save their sergeant’s life

FRESNO, Calif. ( KGPE ) – The American Red Cross is honoring its 2025 Central Valley heroes – individuals recognized for their extraordinary acts of courage, kindness and compassion. This year’s lifesaving heroes are five Fresno police officers who faced a barrage of gunfire to save the life of their sergeant who had been shot.

Fresno Police Sergeant George Imirian was wounded by a murder suspect who shot into his parked patrol car.

“The shots went right into the driver door, of Sgt. Imirians patrol vehicle and he was struck by two of those rounds,” Chief Mindy Casto said…
