FIRST ALERT: Strong to severe storm potential continues into the evening

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – We are giving you the FIRST ALERT to a few stronger to severe storms to move through today. Stay up to date with the forecast as this line of storms moves through.

SEVERE POTENTIAL TODAY

We continue to sit under a LEVEL 2 risk for a few strong to severe storms today.

Through the rest of the afternoon we will continue to see the line of storms work through our area, on and off showers and storms are expected through the rest of the day today.

With the right atmospheric ingredients in the atmosphere, we are still going to hold on to the chance for a few strong to severe storms through the rest of the evening as a second round is going to start to work into the area.

As we continue to see showers and the chance for a few storms to work into the area wind gusts and heavy downpours are going to be expected through this evening. We have enough instability and wind shear in the atmosphere to hold on to the chance for a severe storm.

It is important to keep the WMBF First Alert Weather App handy so that if we do have a tornado warning, you will be prepared…
