ATLANTA — Sunday marks four years since a gunman targeted three metro Atlanta spas, killing eight people and changing the lives of countless others.

The March 16, 2021 tragedy continues to weigh heavily on the hearts of Atlanta’s Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and beyond.

Where the Atlanta spa shootings case stands now

The accused shooter, Robert Aaron Long, pleaded guilty in 2021 to charges in Cherokee County, where he admitted to killing four people at Young’s Asian Massage. He was sentenced to four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole.

In Fulton County, Long faces 19 charges, including felony murder and domestic terrorism, for the deaths of four others at Gold Massage Spa and Aromatherapy Spa. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in that case…
