Inmate from Cecil County found dead in Hagerstown prison

HAGERSTOWN – A homicide investigation is continuing after an inmate serving a nine-year term for a gun-related Cecil County conviction and a related violation of probation offense was found dead inside a Washington County prison, according to the Maryland State Police.

MSP detectives assigned to the agency’s Homicide Unit identified the victim as 21-year-old Lawrence Antonio Borom, whom correctional officers at Roxbury Correctional Institution in Hagerstown found dead shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Officers found Borom lying on a floor in an unspecified location inside the prison and noticed that he had “apparent head injuries,” police said. Investigators have identified a suspect, also an inmate, police added. Because of the ongoing investigation, however, MSP officials have not identified that suspect, nor have they detailed the events that led to Borom’s death…
