STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Several new state laws are set to take effect in New York this month, including one sponsored by a Staten Island legislator.
The new laws cover a wide range of topics, including crime victims’ rights, cooling centers in state prisons, expanded doula access for birthing mothers, registration of short-term rental properties and the disclosure of criminal records.
Here’s a look at five new laws taking effect in New York in March.
Rights of crime victims
