WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW)—Wichita Mayor Lily Wu is suggesting that police be ousted from their offices at City Hall and moved into the vacant Wichita Central Library. She then wants to move Sedgwick County government into the freed-up space at City Hall, which is drawing support and criticism.
Combining County and City offices into one building is not a new discussion. Elected officials at the City and County level say it would help with collaboration and cutting costs. Still, the idea of moving WPD into the old downtown library is causing some friction.
