CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A west Charlotte elementary school was on a brief lockdown due to police activity on Tuesday afternoon, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools confirmed.
Ashley Park PreK-8 was placed on lockdown around 3 p.m. for a police investigation, CMS said. The lockdown was lifted just before 3:30 p.m. and delayed dismissal was underway. No students or staff members were hurt during that time.
WCNC Charlotte has reached out to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police for more details about the situation. It’s unclear if any arrests have been made or what the investigation was related to. CMPD hasn’t responded to our requests at this time…
