Paulding County Judge Orders Forfeiture of $177,000 and Vehicle in Drug Trafficking Case

On March 5, 2025, Superior Court Judge T. David Lyles ordered the seizure and forfeiture of $177,000 in U.S. currency and a 2021 Dodge Charger following a trial conducted by District Attorney Robert S. Lane. The court determined that the seized money and vehicle were direct proceeds from illegal drug trafficking and sales. The property was declared forfeited and transferred to the State of Georgia for law enforcement use.

The case stemmed from a November 13, 2024, operation by the North West Georgia Drug Task Force (NWGDTF), Paulding County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Authorities arrested 39-year-old Darrlin Vernard Warner at his residence in Hiram, Georgia.

During the search, agents recovered over 1 kilogram (37 ounces) of fentanyl, 16 ounces of methamphetamine, 46 grams of heroin, 9 grams of cocaine, and a significant quantity of other pills.
